A charge of ? 23.29 is made for the use
of the pilot launch for every move in
or out of Valletta. In addition, a National
Insurance Levy of 10% is charged on
standard rates, while a further 10% levy
is collected on all gross expenses incurred
for mooring services. Other charges are
levied for additional services in terms of
the Mooring Regulations.
These dues are charged at a standard rate according to the Net Registered Tonnage of a ship:
- Sailing and auxiliary vessels: Each period of seven days or part thereof during which the vessel remains in port - For every 20 tons of part thereof ? 9.32
- Steam vessels (not exceeding 2,000 tons): Each period of seven days or part thereof during which the vessel remains in port - For every 500 tons or part thereof ? 23.29
- Steam vessels (exceeding 2,000 tons): Each period of seven days or part thereof during which the vessel remains in port - For the first 2,000 tons ? 116.47, for every 1,000 tons or part thereof in excess of 2,000 tons ? 11.65
Port Dues payable in respect of laid-up vessels
Laid-up vessels, whether registered in Malta or otherwise, shall pay port dues as follows:
- vessels not exceeding 10 tons - ? 10.48 per vessel for every period of seven days or part thereof
- vessels exceeding 10 tons but not exceeding 50 tons - € 20.96 per vessel for every period of seven days or part thereof
- vessels exceeding 50 tons but not exceeding 100 tons - ? 31.45 per vessel for every period of seven days or part thereof
- vessels exceeding 100 tons but not exceeding 500 tons - ? 41.93 per vessel for every period of seven days or part thereof
Laid-up vessels exceeding 500 tons shall pay port dues as follows:
- vessels not exceeding 2,000 tons - ? 34.94 for every 500 tons or part thereof in respect of every period of seven days or part thereof
- vessels exceeding 2,000 tons for the first 2,000 tons - ? 174.70 in respect of every period or part thereof
- for every 1,000 tons or part thereof in excess of 2,000 tons - ? 17.47 in respect of every period of seven days or part thereof
Every vessel at a berth, under the control and management of the Authority shall be subject to the Berthage Dues for every period of 24 hours and part thereof, as follows:
LOA less than 80 metres: ? 81.53
LOA between 80 metres and 200 metres: ? 116.47
LOA over 200 metres: ? 174.70
