The Yachting Centres Directorate is, in terms of Section 6 (2)(m) of the
Malta Maritime Authority Act, duty bound to: regulate,
control, develop and promote yachting centres and
to administer and control legal requirements insofar as "small ships"
are involved.
These two functions bring about a host of administrative requirements
which range from providing new
infrastructure connected with an ever-increasing demand from the yachting scene
to administering the licensing of speed boats and the allocation of a mooring
space for small craft.
